# Auto send welcome voucher or discount code to new sign up customers

# 1. Introduction

By offering an exclusive discount on their first purchase, you encourage visitors to sign up for your store and create an account, giving them the confidence to place their first order and often motivating them to add more items to their cart.

# 2. Send welcome voucher

| 💡 Tips: Suitable for Business, Growth plan and above.

2.1 Go to Customers > Engagement > edit **Welcome New Customer** event.

2.2 Scroll to the voucher section and click **Add voucher**.

2.3 Choose method to add voucher:

* Add **new** voucher — create a new voucher
* Add **existing** voucher — select from Discounts > Vouchers list

2.4 To create new voucher, follow steps 3.2 to 7 in [this guide](https://support.easystore.co/en/article/create-promotion-dfu8bh/) to set up general settings, conditions and reward of the voucher based on your offer to new sign up customers.

2.5 The voucher will be auto assigned to new sign up customers only.

2.6 Complete the settings and **Save** the voucher.

* **Available voucher quantity** — select “Unlimited” so that all new sign up customers (without limitation) can get the welcome voucher
* **Voucher visibility** — select "Visible" so that public customers can see the voucher and attracted to sign up (refer step 2.8)
* **Voucher expiration** — if you want, you can set how long time before the voucher expire, start counting from the date customer sign up

2.7 The voucher is created but might be inactive, make sure to enable the event to activate it.

2.8 Once the event is enabled, customers will receive the welcome message upon sign-up, together with the welcome voucher.

2.9 Also make sure the voucher is enabled and **Active** in your **Discounts > Vouchers** list so that customers can see and apply the voucher in their account.

2.10 Welcome voucher can be found in customer’s account > Vouchers > under **Active Vouchers** tab and ready to be applied in customer’s first order.

# 3. Send discount code

3.1 Go to Discounts > **Add discount**.

3.2 Follow steps 3.2 to 7 in [this guide](https://support.easystore.co/en/article/create-promotion-dfu8bh/) to set up general settings, conditions and reward of the discount based on your offer to new sign up customers.

3.3 Complete discount setting, make sure to select:

* "Discount automatically" method (fill in your own code > **Add** or **Generate code**)
* Customer eligibility: All logged-in members
* Store usage limit: Unlimited
* Each customer usage limit: Limited times = 1

3.4. Go to Customers > Engagement > edit Welcome New Customer > edit Send welcome message > insert the discount code together with your own sentence.

3.5 Also, ensure **Welcome New Customer** event is enabled so customers receive the welcome message upon sign-up.

3.6 Now your new sign up customers can apply the discount code in their first purchase.
