# Domain Upgrade

# 1. Introduction

To enhance overall system performance and stability, and to strengthen website security, EasyStore will be carrying out an infrastructure upgrade. This upgrade involves changes to domain services, and merchants using third-party domains will need to update their DNS settings to ensure their websites continue operating normally.

1.1 If you see this announcement bar, you will need to upgrade your domain. Click **Go to Domain Settings** or go to Channels > Online store > Domains.

# 2. Get the validation DNS records

2.1 Actions are required for both non-www and www domain. Click the non-www domain first.

2.2 Click **Next steps** button.

2.3 You will start `Step 1: Configure Validation Records`.

For non-www domain, you will find **1 CNAME** and **1 TXT** record.

2.4 Then, repeat steps 2.1 - 2.2 for www domain.

For www domain, you will find **1 more CNAME** and **1 more TXT** record.

# 3. Configure validation DNS in your domain dashboard

Next, you need to add the DNS records above in your domain DNS.

3.1 First, log in to your domain provider’s dashboard (the platform where you purchased your domain, e.g. Exabytes, GoDaddy, Namecheap, or others). Then, look for the section where you can manage your DNS settings.

3.2 Referring to the records above, you need to add **2 CNAME** and **2 TXT** records. Each record has 3 parts: **Type**, **Name/Host**, and **Value** — shown as columns in the table below.

**💡 Tips:**
* The format for **Name/Host** may vary depending on your domain provider. Make sure to follow the format used in your domain’s DNS settings.
* Not sure how to add? You can also copy the DNS details in steps 2.3 and 2.4 above and share them with your domain provider for assistance.

3.3 **TTL** means how long the server should cache the information, usually you can leave it as **default**.

# **4. Verify DNS and Issue New SSL**

4.1 After done adding the records in your domain DNS, go back to your EasyStore admin panel > click into both non-www and www domains > click **Verify DNS** button under Step 1.

4.2 Then, wait for the new DNS records to take effect on your domain. During this time, no changes will happen on this page.

| Estimated time to complete: 24-48 hours.

4.3 When the verification is completed, you will see:

* `Step 1: Configure Validation Records` update to **Completed**
* `Step 2: Issue New SSL` is **Pending** and SSL activated: "No".

At this time, no action needed from your side, just wait for the SSL to be activated automatically.

# 5. Point to New Server

5.1 After SSL activated and `Step 2: Issue New SSL` update to **Completed**, click the drop-down arrow to start `Step 3: Point to New Server`.

For non-www domain, you should find:

* **3 A** records **Pending configuration**
* **4 A** records **Foreign IP detected**

For www domain, you will find **1 CNAME** record.

5.2 Referring to the records above, make the following changes in your domain DNS. There are total 3 changes to be made:

1. Update A records

Find the following 4 **Foreign IP detected** A records in your domain DNS, delete any 1 of them:

* 151.101.2.236
* 151.101.66.236
* 151.101.130.236
* 151.101.194.236

Then, change the remaining 3 to:

* #.###.##.### ${color}[#ff0000]([must copy from your admin panel])
* #.###.##.### ${color}[#ff0000]([must copy from your admin panel])
* #.###.##.### ${color}[#ff0000]([must copy from your admin panel])

Or, if you've added the 3 **Pending configuration** A records first (as per table below), you can just delete all 4 **Foreign IP detected** A records from your domain DNS.

2. Update CNAME record for www

Find this CNAME record in your domain DNS:

* [easystore.map.fastly.net](https://easystore.map.fastly.net/)

Change it to:

* xxxxx.xxxxx.xxxx ${color}[#ff0000]([must copy from your admin panel])

If the record is deleted by mistake, you can add them back following table below:

3. Find this CNAME record in your domain DNS and delete it (this step is **optional** only and you won't see it in your admin panel)

* _acme-challenge

5.3 After done updating the records in your domain DNS, go back to your EasyStore admin panel > click into both non-www and www domains > click **Verify DNS** button under Step 3.

5.4 Again, wait for the new DNS records to take effect on your domain. During this time, no changes will happen on this page.

When you see `Step 3: Point to New Server` status update to **Completed**, the domain upgrade is done.
