Point your domain to EasyStore

1. Introduction


If your domain is purchased from 3rd party domain provider like Exabytes, GoDaddy, Namecheap and you want to use the domain for your EasyStore website, you can perform point domain so that the domain will show your store when visitors visit this domain.


2. Add domain in your store


2.1 Go to EasyStore Admin > Channels > Online Store > Domains > under Active domains > Add existing domain.



2.2 Insert your domain name without www.



2.3 Both non-www and www domain will be auto added for you.




3. Find the DNS records


3.1 Click into the non-www domain > expand Step 1: Configure DNS and Verification.



3.2 You will find 3 A records and 1 TXT record.



3.2 Then, also click into the www domain and you will find 1 CNAME record and 1 more TXT record.



4. Configure the DNS in your domain dashboard


Next, you need to add the DNS records above in your domain DNS.


4.1 First, log in to your domain provider’s dashboard (the platform where you purchased your domain, e.g. Exabytes, GoDaddy, Namecheap, or others). Then, look for the section where you can manage your DNS settings.


4.2 Referring to the records above, you need to add 3 A, 2 TXT and 1 CNAME records. Each record has 3 parts: Type, Name/Host, and Value — shown as columns in the table above.


💡 Tips:

  • The format for Name/Host may vary depending on your domain provider. Just follow the format used in your domain’s DNS settings.
  • Not sure how to add? You can also copy the DNS details from Step 3 and share them with your domain provider for assistance.


For non-www domain:

4.3 TTL means how long the server should cache the information, usually you can leave it as default.


5. Verify DNS and wait for propagation


5.1 After done configuring DNS, you may go back to your EasyStore admin panel > click into both non-www and www domains > click Verify DNS.



5.2 DNS changes need times to propagate to the world. Kindly allow up to 24 hours for the domain to be verified.


5.3 At this time, you will see:


  • Domain status : Action needed
  • DNS verification status : Not complete
  • DNS records status : Pending configuration




5.4 Once the verification is completed, the status will update to:


  • Domain status : Unsecured
  • DNS verification status : Completed
  • DNS records status : Connected



6. Activate SSL


6.1 Now further scroll down to SSL Certificate Encryption section, an **SSL Reissue **button will appear. Click this button to request an SSL certificate and secure your domain.



6.2 Please note that SSL issuance may take up to 1 hour, kindly be patient during the process and avoid clicking the button repeatedly.


6.3 At this time, you will see:


  • Domain status : Unsecured
  • Online Store Reachability (Secured) status : Pending SSL issuance
  • SSL activated : No
  • SSL expiry : None





6.4 Once the SSL is activated, the status will update to:


  • Domain status : Secured
  • Online Store Reachability (Secured) status : Yes
  • SSL activated : Yes
  • SSL expiry : [Date]






7. Set primary domain


7.1 To set primary domain, click into the domain you want to set as primary > Set as primary.



7.2 You can check the primary domain at your domain listing page.



7.3 If you have added more than 1 domain, you can redirect other domains to the primary domain.
