1. Introduction



With membership system, merchant can create a few different membership tiers according to customer spending ability. It helps merchant to identify which customers are the most loyal to their business.

Moreover, you are able to create different earning and redemption formulas allowing you to foster your relationships with loyal customers by giving them special offers.

If changes were made to customers/account.liquid and customers/order.liquid files, please reset them in Channels > Online Store > Edit source > templates.


2. Create membership tier





📌 Note:
Different membership tiers cannot have the same membership name
Different membership tiers cannot have the same upgrade threshold


Step 1 : Go to EasyStore’s admin panel > Customers > Points & Membership > Add membership tier



Step 2 : Key in tier name.



Tier name will be displayed to your members under 'My Account’



Step 3 : Upload tier card images



Step 4 : Set membership tier expiry. You can choose the membership tier validity period (how long the membership status will last)

There were 3 options available for the membership tier validity period.
3 months
6 months
12 months


From the image below, the membership for customer A will be expired in 3 months.



Example Scenario:



1 Jan 2022 - customer A upgraded to Silver tier membership & validity period was 3 months.

Customer A didn’t meet the minimum spends for auto extension of Silver tier membership,

Thus, Customer A Silver tier membership will expired at:
1 March 2022.

Step 5 : Cumulative total spends. You can set how many accumulated spends are needed for customers to upgrade the tier.



From the image below, the cumulative total spends needed of this membership tier will be MYR 1000



Example Scenario:



1 Jan 2022 - Customer B was in default membership tier

Bronze tier cumulative total spends need RM1000

2 February 2022 - Customer B fully paid for a RM600 order

31 May 2022 - Customer B fully paid for a RM400 order and promoted to Bronze tier

Accumulated purchase reached RM1000 (RM600+RM400)


📌 Note:
System will include orders for accumulated purchase only when the order is fully paid.
Every time when an order is paid, total purchase amount will be calculated to validate if the customer is eligible to upgrade to a higher tier.


Step 6 : Auto extension (membership renewal). You can decide the accumulated purchase amount needed for customers to renew for membership tier.

From the image below, the minimum spends for auto extension of this membership tier will be MYR 1000



Example Scenario:

1 Jan 2022 - Customer A upgraded to Silver tier membership & validity period was 6 months.

1 May 2022 - Customer A placed and paid for an order (RM1100)

1 June 2022 - System will detects Customer A Silver tier membership expired and verifies the customer meets the renewal threshold

Thus, Customer A Silver tier membership is renewed

Step 7 : Set how many points earn per dollar spent.

From the image below, 1 point rewarded when customer spend every RM 1

Step 8 : Set the amount of points needed for each dollar discount reward

From the image below, 100 points is needed for MYR 1 discount reward



💡Tips: Different membership tier allow to have different formulas of points earn per dollar spent.

Step 9 : Select points expiry.

There were 3 options available for validity period.
3 months
6 months
12 months


From the image below, the points rewarded to customer in this tier will be expired in 3 months.



Step 10 : Save!

Q : Can a membership tier be deleted?

Yes, any created membership tier created can be deleted.

However, if any of the customers still belong to that tier, the specific membership tier cannot be deleted.

Q : How to manually change customer membership tier?

You can change customer membership tier at:

EasyStore admin panel > Customers > Click on customer name > edit profile > membership tier
