Different shipping rates for different state/country

1. Introduction

Of course one of the benefits of an e-commerce business is you can sell to as many areas = as many customers as possible. So we know you probably need to set up different shipping rates for different areas, which we call zones. You can separate zones by countries/states/zip code, as you prefer. Here is the guide to show you how to set these different rates up.

2. Example scenario

You would like to set up different shipping fees for West and East Malaysia.

3. Part 1 : Set up Zone A (e.g. West Malaysia) and its shipping methods

3.1 First, create zone A ( West Malaysia ). Go to EasyStore Admin > Settings > Shippings > Add Shipping.


3.2 Name this zone and select the country this zone belongs to.

💡 Tips: Make sure the zone name is memorable for your own future use.



3.3 Once a country is selected, you will be prompted to further select sub-regions ( by zip codes or states ).

💡 Tips:
Zipcodes can be used in multiple zones. However, you do not have to create another shipping zone. Just select another shipping method under the same shipping zone will do
Sub-regions can only be used in one zone

Type in zip code - define your zone by manually inserting zip codes



Select from list - define your zone by selecting from the list of states



3.4 Next, add a shipping method for this zone.

💡 Tips: one zone can have multiple shipping methods, you can add another after complete one method



3.5 Fill in the settings for this shipping method. You may refer to the links below for the setting guide for each shipping method.

4. Part 2 : Set up Zone B (e.g. East Malaysia) and its shipping methods

4.1 Go back to EasyStore Admin > Settings > Shippings > Add Shipping to create a new zone B ( East Malaysia ).

💡 Tips: now you can see you have created the first zone A ( West Malaysia ).



4.2 Name this zone differently and select the country this zone belongs to.



4.3 Same, you will be prompted to further select sub-regions.

💡 Tips: you won't be able to select the states which you have selected in zone A ( West Malaysia ), because one zip code/state can only be used in one zone.



4.4 Repeat steps 3.4 & 3.5 above.

4.5 Save and done with zone B ( East Malaysia )

Now you have two shipping zones with different rates! 😍
